Contacting Me, A Lesson in IM Networks
So I realized today while I was sorting out some stuff here on the MacBook that not only has it been a while since I've been on all the instant messenging networks I use, it's possible that the people I actually aim to talk to on them don't know of my accounts. So, here goes:
- AIM: BriantheStephan
- ICQ: 8382133
- MSN: bssteph@hotmail.com
- Yahoo: bssteph
- Jabber: bssteph@kdetalk.net
- Google Talk: bssteph@gmail.com
There you go. I'm connected to all of the above now, so now you can talk to me over six different IM networks... AT THE SAME TIME!
d20 Roll Variant Probabilities
After some reading and messing around, I sent a email to the gaming group asking about alternate ways to roll checks in d20 System games. Shortly after, I decided it a good idea to make a little table of probabilities.
1d20 ============================================= 1 : 1 (5%) 2 : 1 (5%) 3 : 1 (5%) 4 : 1 (5%) 5 : 1 (5%) 6 : 1 (5%) 7 : 1 (5%) 8 : 1 (5%) 9 : 1 (5%) 10: 1 (5%) 11: 1 (5%) 12: 1 (5%) 13: 1 (5%) 14: 1 (5%) 15: 1 (5%) 16: 1 (5%) 17: 1 (5%) 18: 1 (5%) 19: 1 (5%) 20: 1 (5%) Did 20 rolls. 2d10 ============================================= 1 : 0 (0%) 2 : 1 (1%) 3 : 2 (2%) 4 : 3 (3%) 5 : 4 (4%) 6 : 5 (5%) 7 : 6 (6%) 8 : 7 (7%) 9 : 8 (8%) 10: 9 (9%) 11: 10 (10%) 12: 9 (9%) 13: 8 (8%) 14: 7 (7%) 15: 6 (6%) 16: 5 (5%) 17: 4 (4%) 18: 3 (3%) 19: 2 (2%) 20: 1 (1%) Did 100 rolls. 3d20, select the middle ============================================= 1 : 58 (0.72%) 2 : 166 (2.07%) 3 : 262 (3.27%) 4 : 346 (4.32%) 5 : 418 (5.22%) 6 : 478 (5.97%) 7 : 526 (6.57%) 8 : 562 (7.02%) 9 : 586 (7.32%) 10: 598 (7.47%) 11: 598 (7.47%) 12: 586 (7.32%) 13: 562 (7.02%) 14: 526 (6.57%) 15: 478 (5.97%) 16: 418 (5.22%) 17: 346 (4.32%) 18: 262 (3.27%) 19: 166 (2.07%) 20: 58 (0.72%) Did 8000 rolls. 3d6 ============================================= 1 : 0 (0%) 2 : 0 (0%) 3: 1 (0.4629%) 4 : 3 (1.389%) 5 : 6 (2.778%) 6 : 10 (4.629%) 7: 15 (6.944%) 8 : 21 (9.722%) 9 : 25 (11.57%) 10: 27 (12.5%) 11: 27 (12.5%) 12: 25 (11.57%) 13: 21 (9.722%) 14: 15 (6.944% 15: 10 (4.629%) 16: 6 (2.778%) 17: 3 (1.389%) 18: 1 (0.4629%) 19: 0 (0%) 20: 0 (0%) Did 216 rolls.
The numbers may round a bit funny, I had to do some creative editing to fit the results in the blog without totally breaking the default layout. If things turn out all fugly, your fixed width font is too big, As Decreed By Stephan (TM).
Wiki Updates For Sepulture
A couple significant updates to IncorporealWiki regarding my True20 game.
- A list of available powers (this may see some additions before I'm through).
- An additional barbarian-like background.
- Details and a revision to Death's Keeper.
- The beginnings of a planar discussion of the setting.
And changes still necessary to make:
- Finishing the planar discussion.
- Detailed description of Exis (the plane and the continent).
- Beginning discussion of the general theme of the campaign, fueled in part by conversation with Dan.
Huzzah updates!
New Blog!
Hello, everyone, this is my first post in a new blog (as you probably figured out by now) on http://blog.incorporeal.org. It is the first step in an update away from Drupal (which was getting too cumbersome) and to split blogs for my mundane life and my KDE life, since they should really be separate (KDE folks don't need to hear my rambling on True20 and stuff, afterall!).
So there's going to be some delay while I get everything on this end working how I want, but hey, at least I'm updating things again.
