New host, and I finally moved the blog!
Yup. Naturally, being the tinkerer I am, I’ve moved hosting again, although this time it will be a much less rocky transition.
I have moved to Linode, which is not a host per se, but a virtual dedicated server. They provide an empty “server” (in truth a Linux image running inside of User Mode Linux), a little admin configuration tool to get a Linux distro installed, and enough network access to give yourself root and console access. And from that point on, it’s up to the enterprising admin.
Unsurprisingly, I’m enjoying it. I’ve had to administer an email setup, which was a hell of a lot of fun, in its own frightening way. I’ve also set up Apache and PHP (obviously), Mailman, and a Jabber server. Probably a couple other things, it’s been kind of a blur lately.
Obviously, the blog has made the transition almost entirely unaltered, and incorporeal.org (don’t worry, it still exists, and will for a while) is already pointing the blog subdomain over here. (I suspect even the RSS feed URLs will still work, I’m just that good.) The gallery will probably move in a couple days. The wiki, however, is changing.
http://emptymatter.org/wiki/ — behold!
A number of things are there, but the old wiki is not fully ported (from Mediawiki to MoinMoin) yet. The Sepulture stuff is up, as are parts of Shards of Jade and #lh. Star Wars (which still needs a real name) has to go over there too; but the big chunk was Sepulture, and I’m glad that’s been converted. I hope to use the wiki much more than I did in the past, and save the blog for the real bloggy stuff. If you weren’t getting information from my blog in the past, it’s time to start. For example, here’s some new contact information.
And you can see my gigantic TODO of stuff to install here still…
